Chris Button came along to Southampton Camera Club on Monday 7th August, and gave a very inspiration talk dealiving into lots of details.
Chris is a full time professional photographer from Totton specialising in atmospheric landscape images. Almost all of his images are taken at dawn or dusk when natural light transforms subjects with its rich and soft colours. Being in the right place for the very best light is never easy and so when it happens it is particularly exciting and rewarding. His approach is to capture the image as accurately as possible in the camera through careful composition and with a single exposure (rather than blending several images) and the use of filters at the point of capture to re-create what the eye sees (rather than a significant manipulation of images later with software). Chris’s talk was based on how he teaches Landscape Photography in his workshops and was a practical guide in creating better images.
It was great seeing so many woderful images that reflected the local area.
