The Club hosted our Memorial Lecture on Sunday 27th November where we were very pleased to invite Clive Minnitt to present his talk ‘Finding the Picture’. Clive is a widely published professional landscape and travel photographer and he has been a tour leader for Light & Land (the UK’s leading photographic holiday company) for many years.
Clive treated us to a wonderfully entertaining afternoon of great photography with many humorous stories and anecdotes.
Clive’s passion for the subjects he sees and photographs came across very well. We were shown his style for well observed detail and seeing links in images with much use of differential focus and very subtle lighting. Much advice was offered to the audience to improve their own picture making and he showed that we could all attempt to achieve his type of image.
Clive sold many of his books and cards and those people who won his books in the raffle were delighted.
The Club gives much appreciation to Clive for making the long journey to visit us and for ensuring such a worthwhile occasion.
Also of course many thanks to all those club members who helped make such a great event.
We must not forget Bob Elliott and Jim Mansfield in whose memory we hold our series of successful Memorial Lectures and we also give continued thanks to John Giddings for the sponsorship.
Watch this space for future lectures
