Dr. Lilian Hobbs LRPS: ‘Astrophotography: Watch an Image Come to Life’
March 12-7:45 pm - 10:00 pm
Lilian is an astro-photographer living close to the light polluted skies of Southampton. She takes most of her photographs from her garden observatory which has been featured on the BBC Sky at Night.
Tonight you will get an opportunity to see exactly how an astrophotography image is made. Lilian will start with looking at the equipment, how it is setup, and then all the steps needed from the initial raw images through to the post processing steps and the final image. We will watch this process for deep sky images, planets using video, star trails using a sequence of pictures and of course the milky way. Be prepared for the odd software glitch, you always get those during a live demonstration. See: www.lilianhobbs.com/astronomy
Please note events may be altered at short notice due to circumstances beyond our control. Any changes will be notified on the Website, Facebook and Notice Board as soon as possible.
