Nature & Landscape Photography in the New Forest – with Roger Creber ARPS EFIAP DPAGB
August 21-6:30 pm - 10:00 pm
Meet at the Bolderwood Car Park at 6.30pm for the deer sanctuary. The aim is to zoom in on the fallow deer in the evening light and hope they’re not too far away. It’s always pot luck but fingers crossed. Bring along a camera, long lens and tripod.
The car park is at OS grid ref 242 087. Approach via Lyndhurst and take A35 and then turn right at the Ornamental Drives junction into the Bolderwood Drive. Or just after Lyndhurst turn right at Swan Green towards Emery Down and then left just after the New Forest Inn and continue pass the Portuguese Fireplace memorial. Or approach over the high forest from Nomansland and Fritham and the airfield road over Ocknell Plain (which I’ll be doing if anyone wants a lift).
The plan is then to drive a few hundred yards up the road to the Bratley View car park to shoot the famous pine tree surrounded by the colourful heather, and maybe a sunset. This tree appears in all the New Forest guide books and calendars etc. Some of you may remember we did meet here a few years ago at a different time of year. Afterwards retire to the New Forest Inn for a well earned pint.
If raining, meet at the New Forest Inn, Emery Down at 8pm to swap stories and maybe view pictures etc.
Please let Roger know if you intend to attend, as some idea of numbers is always useful.
