Originally my interest
in photography started after a very good holiday in the Middle
East, where I saw wonderful sights. You will have to take my word
for that because the photographs I took were all over exposed,
I had set my camera incorrectly. As I enjoy being out of doors I am able to use photography as a happy excuse to visit places to photograph. I would like to be able produce images that create an atmosphere of tranquillity, and belie the actual conditions of the taking. The pictures of Rannoch Moor were taken on an outcrop of rock in the water that was too small to accommodate a tripod, camera bag, and me. So, at times I was standing in the water (not too bad) or putting my tripod and camera in the water (very frightening, I would dry off, the camera wouldn’t) or swinging my camera bag onto another bit of rock. As those of you who know Rannoch Moor will know, there is a main road running through it with fast moving heavy goods lorries thundering by, photography certainly is not what you include, but what you leave out.
