Nigel Plant ARPS DPAGB

A selection of personal favourite photographs taken by the author

I have been interested in photography since I was very young, owning a succession of compact and SLR cameras including, at one time, an Instamatic! I joined Southampton Camera Club about 12 years ago and am now the Digital Competition Secretary as well as the Digital Secretary for the Southampton International Exhibition. I enjoy trying to use unusual camera angles and selective framing to create interesting pictures out of everyday scenes.

All my work now is digital capture, most recently using Pentax K7 and selection of Sigma and Pentax lenses, including a 10-17mm fish-eye zoom!  Recognising that travel was a recurring theme I applied for an Associateship of the Royal Photographic Society in October 2008 and the successful travel panel can be seen using this link ARPS Travel Panel or click sidebar link. I also gained my DPAGB distinction in 2009.

Pictures in this gallery have been taken in locations as diverse as New Zealand, Scotland, Greece, South East Asia, Egypt, Ireland, the United States of America and Wales. And London!
