A selection of personal favourite photographs taken by the author

"Just retired, I now have the time and the will to dig deeper than the 'point-and-push' snapography followed since my late 'teens.

My favourite subjects are buildings and structures, especially from and/or with unusual angles and geometry, targeting interesting reflections and/or contrasts with surroundings. Also, anything emotive that touches my soul: street scenes, incongruities, cloud- and seascapes, - and anything, anywhere that's appears comic, absurd or ridiculous! Currently, the sights, sounds, tastes, smells and emotions I sense in the countryside don't seem to survive the trip through the camera - which probably says more about my (lack of) technical ability rather than equipment limitations. I'm a new(ish) member and I'm impressed with the SCC's high technical and artistic standards, and with the ideas and imagination behind the images from all classes. I aspire to contribute, but for now, here are some examples of what rocks my particular cradle.

As always, all constructive criticism is welcome (email: - p-dainton@sky.com).
