I studied photography as a student at Art
College. When I left College I found that taking photos using
the Praktica MTL3 became harder work than I was prepared for,
so I sold all of my gear and replaced it with an instant point
and shot camera, which my wife primarily used.
When Digital Cameras became affordable
I decided to get a Fuji S602 Zoom. Having the ability to take
photos, review them immediately and then retake to get the shot
right was brilliant. Over the following few months I took hundreds
of pictures and leant how to use a camera again. Once competent
at using the digital I bought myself a Canon EOS 3 and a couple
of lenses and then found that there was indeed a huge difference
between digital and film, another rapid learning curve. In a matter
of months I found that I had reached the limitation of the fixed
lens Digital camera, and purchased a Canon EOS10D and have never
looked back.
I primarily take pictures of Landscapes
with particular interest in the Sun and Water. In addition to
my passion for photography I am completely obsessed with Motor
sport. Having a brother that races and runs his own motor sport
company meant that I could go along to race meetings and take
photos of racing cars for free. Unfortunately this was rather
short lived as I became too popular and upset the other photographers,
who got me banned from selling photos! Not stopped by this, I
moved to a sport called Grasstrack, which is very similar to Speedway
but run on a grass oval.
I now run my own Motor sport Photography
company, that specialises in Large format 'Print on the Day' all
run from the back of a 4x4. see
