I started photography as a teenager, using a plate camera with 3 plate holders; I have now gone completely digital, and strangely, there are certain similarities between the two ! As a teenager I wanted to take up photography as a career, but was persuaded that there was no future in it, a decision I regret to this day.

Always, whenever I take a picture, whether a scene, a flower, or people, I try to produce something more than a record, something with an extra dimension, or inner meaning, whatever you call it. I always attempt to produce an impact, and strive for a good composition. My photography has improved greatly having gone digital, and I doubt if I shall ever use film again.

`Cape Fishermen` and `The Crucible` were taken in South Africa in the sixties; `Monk`s Blessing` was taken in the Hotel California in Phnom Pen; `Boat Ladies` was taken in the floating village at Siem Riep; `Carry Me Away` was taken on an overcast and misty day in Canada; `Bedouin Girl with Kid` was taken in Petra, Jordan. The others were taken locally.
