I was born in London and educated in Surrey.
Having qualified as a chartered Electrical Engineer, I went on
to do Physics & Electronics and then spent most of my working
life in R & D with the Mullard (Philips) company. Much of
the early part was spent on VHF, Magnetrons, High speed flash
tubes, and then into Opto Electronics, specialising in far infra-red
devices including Thermal Imaging camera`s. The last 15 years
were spent as Senior Project Manager for Europe for Electro Optic
devices.
On taking an early retirement I went into education as a co-coordinator
for RSA and then as Industrial Fellow at King Edwards 1V. School.
I have been an enthusiastic photographer since I was 18 and the
opportunity to travel, has broadened my many interests.
Photographically I have covered Electron Microscopy, Technical,
Air, Portraits, Landscapes, close ups and Thermal Images. I worked
mainly in Monochrome prints initially coupled with slide work,
and then a short spell with colour prints. Finally I have turned
to digitlal Image printing.
I have also had the privilege of being
club president. First in 1974 to 1976 and again in 1993 to 1996.
