My interest in photography stemmed from my father and an uncle. My uncle was a great wildlife photographer and I remember being amazed by his images from an early age. For my eighth birthday I got a Kodak instamatic 33 and took the same photos that my father was taking with his camera and that's how I learnt composition.

By the age of 14 I was ready for an SLR which was a Fuji st605 that I took everywhere. I shot everything in shutter priority and as long as the needle was in the middle of the viewfinder I assumed the aperture was ok and that's about as much as I knew about controlling depth of field. My father bought my films for me and so when I left home he stopped and I also stopped taking so many photographs.

But now with the digital age my interest has been reborn and I have gone from a compact to a bridge camera and now at last a DSLR which is a Nikon D70 ( My pride and joy). I hope to do a photograph course in September to learn more and improve on my results.
I am a new member at SCC but have already met new friends and I'm amazed at the standard of photographs that my fellow members take. My images are mainly landscape and wildlife but I am always eager to learn something new. Put me in the middle of nowhere with a camera and you'll rarely see me happier. Which brings me up to date except to say, thanks Dad.
