Nick Scott FRPS

I joined Southampton Camera Club in 1974 as a raw photographic beginner. Through the help and advise from the members the excellent lecturers along with very good, although at times very harsh, judging evenings I progressed to become a full time police photographer with Hampshire Constabulary. For 24 years I was able to practise my hobby and get paid. Retiring in 2000 I now work as a freelance photographer. Photographing weddings, press and Pr assignments, stock photography for leading picture library and, most enjoyable of all, stage and theatre photography keeps me alive.

I have always remained active in the club world of photography having held various offices over the years, including Secretary for the International. At present I am the Chair of The Applied and Professional A & F Assessment Panel of the Royal Photographic Society, which is very rewarding.

My favourite quote “I have no intention to be pigeon-holed into any one discipline of photography, I am a photographer”.
