| I began photography whilst at school
taking photographs with a Halina camera that I’d bought
at a jumble sale. Later joining Southampton Camera Club I was
able to develop a passion for everything photographic which led
me to Salisbury College of Art for ‘formal training’
– happy days! On completing my 3 year course I emerged into
the photographic world and have spent the next 21 years in professional
photography.
Whilst working in the processing and exhibition
industry for 15 years, I maintained an active involvement in club
and exhibition photography - after all I had the best professional
darkroom in the area on hand, and no excuses. After being made
redundant six years ago I started to undertake commissioned work
including wedding, portrait and stage photography. The latter
leading to me being awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Photographic
Society. Currently I am building an extensive collection of images
for an on-line stock library along with the social and event photography
side of my business.
I consider one of my most rewarding appointments
is that of being a member of the RPS Licentiate Distinctions Panel.
I enjoy advising applicants and seeing their hard work being rewarded.
