Laurie Jenkins being presented with an Honorary Life Membership to Southampton Camera Club by SCC President Colin English. Laurie has been a member since 1961. During those 49 years he has held many official club posts, including club president twice in 1974 - 1976 and again in 1993 - 1996, he is currently an active member of the club committee, is a club auditor and trustee, and he even finds the time to be the clubs SPF representative. Well done Laurie for this very well deserved award.

President's Cup 2009 -  Congratulations to Ian Hutchinson who took the honours and won the President's Cup with a total of 14 seals of merit in club competitions this year. He was awarded 6 seals for prints and 8 for digital images .

#topSCC Club Members Exhibition
Held at West Quay Southampton - on the 9th, 10th and 11th October 2009

The exhibition proved to be extremely poplar with West Quay shoppers who where given an opportunity to view a wide range of excellent photography from novice to the more advanced club member. Members of the general public shopping in West Quay were invited to vote for their favourite image which added extra interest and public interactivity to the occasion.

Thanks to all who took part, and in particular a special thank you to West Quay and the SCC exhibition organizers and helpers who jointly made this such a successful exhibition.

Why not visit us on a Monday evening for more excellent club photography. SCC offer a wide range of photographic topics to suite all interests, including internal club competitions at primary, intermediate and advanced levels, external regional and national competitions, lectures, practical workshops and an annual world renowned International Exhibition of Photography - or just an opportunity to have a chat and share our hobby of photography with like minded friends - visitors are always welcome - how to find us

In total 1143 members of the public voted during the three days of the exhibtion. Our gratitude and thanks to those of the public who gave their time to vote. Your final verdict and placing's are as follows:

We meet 19:30 every Monday evening at Copythorne Parish Hall, Copythorne, Nr Southampton, Hampshire (Map). We will be pleased to see you, so why not visit us for an evening of excellent photography, you will be made very welcome.




SCC Clubroom: -
If you would like to visit us you will find us at Copythorne Parish Hall which is located within easy access from the M27 with a large free car park and pleasant facilities. Simple catering facilities are provided within the clubroom or you might wish to try the local public house where fine wines, beer and food are available. Post code: SO40 2NZ
